Xmas time in Santa Cruz

I proposed to Ayumi in Santa Cruz, during xmas time in a2007. Ayumi's mom Yoko joined us to meet my parents, and I took the opportunity to ask her permission (in Japanese) to marry Ayumi. She said "ok." In a very unromantic way, I asked Ayumi to marry me in our pajamas the night before Yoko was to leave back to Japan. We made the announcement the next morning!
